About CAEOP

PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

CAEOP promotes postsecondary educational opportunities for populations traditionally underrepresented in higher education. To achieve this mission, programs and individuals committed to advancing educational opportunity come together in a work and study community to:

  • Engage in activities which strengthen the organization and advance our mission;
  • Further the expansion of educational opportunity programs throughout Connecticut;
  • Foster communications and cooperation among persons working in educational opportunity programs and personnel;
  • Raise public awareness of the needs of low-income and first-generation to college students aspiring to pursue or who are enrolled in post secondary education;
  • Conduct meetings, research and evaluation, scholarly publications, training, professional development, and other educational and charitable activities dealing with issues related to educational opportunity;
  • Form coalitions with organizations and individuals who have an interest in advancing educational opportunity programs; and
  • Support the regional New England Educational Opportunity Association (NEOA) and national Council for Opportunity in Education (COE), which strive to continue services for TRIO programs.
