Purpose and Objectives
The purpose of CAEOP is to promote postsecondary educational opportunities for populations traditionally under-represented in higher education.
To achieve this mission, educational opportunity programs and others committed to advancing educational opportunity come together in a work and study community:
- To engage in activities which strengthen the organization and advance our mission;
- To further the expansion of educational opportunity programs throughout Connecticut;
- To further communications and cooperation among persons working in educational opportunity programs and personnel;
- To further public awareness of the needs of low income students aspiring to pursue or enrolled in post secondary education;
- To conduct meetings, research and evaluation, scholarly publications, training professional development, and other educational and charitable activities dealing with issues related to educational opportunity;
- To form coalitions with organizations and individuals who have an interest in advancing educational opportunity programs; and
- To support the regional New England Educational Opportunity Association (NEOA), and National Council for Opportunity in Education (COE), Associations which strive to continue services for TRIO programs.
